Bond's first real love interest after becoming a 00 agent, Vesper turns out to have both a positive and negative effect on his life. Their whirlwind romance together seems too good to be true, as she dies in a suicide/drowning and is revealed to have kept deep secrets on the mission. Their love would have a permanent effect on Bond's views on women - proclaiming that he will never trust another as much now that the "bitch is dead now."
